The Indonesian archipelago has become an important trade region since at least the 7th century, when Srivijaya and then later Majapahit traded with China and India. Indonesian history has been influenced by foreign powers drawn to its natural resources.
Archipelago of Indonesia has about 300 ethnic groups, each with cultural identities developed over centuries, and influenced by Indian, Arabic, Chinese, and European sources. The cultural heritage of the islands goes way beyond physical structures and landscapes. Tangible and intangible aspects is a major aspect of the heritage and culture. Textiles such as batik, ikat and songket are created across Indonesia in styles that vary by region. Traditional music (gamelan), fine and visual art, religion and rituals, megalithic complexes, architecture, historical and national parks, vast areas of wilderness, agriculture and all other treasures more than anywhere else in the world are in an intricate connection that exists between the built environment, the natural settings and the social and religious life.
Inspiration for Archipelago Heritage Villas concept comes from Indonesian heritage, focusing on a country’s history and culture and the way to present all different forms of heritage the country has to offer.
Our Concept
Tropical climate is one of those factors which attract people who want to have a house of their dreams. Villas in tropical countries are created for vacation and relaxation. It’s a special place to rest the mind and spoil the senses. Hot climate, lots of sun and sea make such villas an island of paradise. The design combines a unique sense of space, openness and harmony. The colors are neutral, the furniture is comfortable and invites you to sit down and enjoy. Interiors are filled with artworks and furniture inspired by nature and elements that symbolize locality. The characteristic feature of heritage villas is a unique combination of traditional architecture style, classical minimal interior and furniture with tribal elements and the local exotic.
